A VERY FLEXIBLE MULTI-PROJECTION |
|
One of the main new features of the V2.5 is its ability to do multi-projection. Now that the PCI-Express is available on Mac, it is possible to have as many as four graphic cards on a single G5 machine, each with a double VGA output. In other words, seven outputs plus one are available for the user-interface (figure 01)
|
Of course, multi-projection becomes particularly interesting when various areas of a composition are displayed in different outputs. And this is precisely what Modul8 V2.5 can do. For instance, it is possible to divide a composition into four sub-rectangles which can compose a single image (figure 02). This technique allows you to work on a huge surface handled by several projectors or to cover a complex space made of several surfaces (like covering all the walls of a room).
Once the setup is done, the artist can work on this space just as if it were a single composition, allowing him to move a layer from one projector to another in a completely transparent way.
In other words, Modul8 becomes an ideal candidate for solutions which used to be very costly in the past, such as creating screen walls, huge projections or covering a complex space.
