INTRODUCTION / Preview and A/B mixing
So now that you have seen quickly the most important components of Modul8 it is important to understand how you work in Modul8.

Modul8 is very flexible and there are many ways to work with it.

The preview window can be used to see the complete composition or only one layer while you creating a composition.

The output window is usually redirected to a projector.

Sometimes you may want to output one composition while you are preparing a new one.

In this case, it is possible to divide your layer stack in two groups A/B.

A special mode in the preview window allows you to see the group

A while your projecting the group B.

The cross-fader at the center of the layer stack can be used to go smoothly from one composition to another.

You can cross-fade using transparency or scale or both.

If you don’t want to use the cross-fader you can turn it off at any time and use a simple linear stack of ten layers.

Modul8 is also able to store pre-defined composition in layer sets.

You can jump very quickly to one composition to another simply by selecting the layer sets.

That's it for this introduction. You should be able now to create your first project with Modul8. Enjoy.
